끝없이 상상의 나래를 펼쳤다. 작은 종이배를 접어 물에 띄우면 이 배가 곧 미지의 세계를 항해할 것만 같았고, 창문 너머 구름은
언제나 우리가 만든 모양대로 변했다. 두려움을 모르던 시절의 우리는 무엇이든 할 수 있었고, 될 수 있었다. 그랬던 우리가 꿈꾸기를 주저하기 시작한 것은
언제부터였을까? 시간이 흐르며 우리는 사회적 역할에 충실하느라 순수했던 소망과 자유를 잊고 살아간다.
일상의 압박 속에서 꿈은 점차 흐릿해지고, 각자의 기대에 부응하기 위해 자신을 감추지만, 우리의 영혼 속에는 여전히 그때의 반짝이던 마음이 살아 숨 쉰다.
각자에게 주어진 역할의 가면을 쓰고 살아가는 우리에게 은가비 작가의 <꿈몽>은 마치 오래된 동화책을 펼쳐 본 것처럼 바쁜 일상에 치여 잊고 있던 빛나던 꿈과
순수한 마음을 떠올리게 한다. 별이 쏟아지는 밤하늘 아래 평화로운 소녀의 모습처럼, 아무 곳이나 자유롭게 떠돌며 느긋할 수 있었던 그때. 밤하늘에서 별을 낚시하고,
신비로운 숲속에 나비가 되어 날아다니던 순수한 상상이 다시 깨어나는 시간이 되기를. 내일도 여전히 각자의 자리로 돌아가야 하는 현실이지만, 그의 작품 안에서

Everyone has had such times. Before we grew up, when it was possible to dream freely. The word "impossible" seemed as if it didn't exist in the world, and we endlessly spread our wings of imagination. When we folded a small paper boat and set it afloat, it felt like this boat would soon sail into an unknown world, and the clouds beyond the window always changed into shapes we created. In those days when we knew no fear, we could do anything and be anyone. When did we start hesitating to dream? As time passed, we became so devoted to our social roles that we forgot our pure desires and freedom. Under the pressure of daily life, our dreams gradually faded, and we hid ourselves to meet the expectations of others. Yet, deep within our souls, the sparkling hearts of those days still breathe.
For us, who live wearing the masks of our assigned roles, Eungabi's work <Dreaming> feels like opening an old fairy tale book, reminding us of the shining dreams and pure hearts we had forgotten in the hustle and bustle of life. Like the peaceful girl under
a starry night sky, it evokes the time when we could wander freely anywhere and take our time. It is a moment to awaken the pure imagination of fishing for stars in the night sky and flying like a butterfly in a mysterious forest. Although we must return to our respective places tomorrow, I hope that within his work, we can find complete rest and reclaim the dreams that have faded.
To capture such dreamlike moments on canvas, the artist harmoniously employs techniques from both the East and the West. Sometimes with delicate brushstrokes, and at other times using the natural flow of paint, layers of color are built up on the canvas. Through this meticulous work, a poetic image that seems to traverse between dreams and reality is created, expressing the deep resonance unique to colored paintings. The soft black ink that gently spreads over the subtle colors reveals a warm and lyrical sensibility that cannot be expressed with Western black.
This exhibition <Dreamscape: The Shining Time, Dreaming Moments> will serve as a pause in the relentless rush of daily life. Through the artworks,
