현대에는 삶에 대한 지침서와 그 길에 대한 정보와 그 상세한 지도까지 수많은 정보가 있다. 그러나 Paradox와 Irony라는 서양 단어, 즉 이치에 어긋나지만 사실을 인정할 수밖에 없을 때 그리고 모호한 인간사의 세상을 이야기할 때, 이 단어들을 빼놓을 수 없다.
그러나 밝음과 어두움, 낮과 밤, 빛이 있음과 없음 같은 확실한 것들도 존재한다. 이것은 확실한 정의이며 또한 동식물과 인간에게 꼭 필요한 원초적 요소이다. 그리고 그 중 빛은 기쁨과 희망의 상징으로 쓰이며 에너지의 원천이다.
그 한 줌의 빛을 담아 예술을 표현함은 나에게 큰 기쁨이다.

Artist Statement: Let There Be Light
In the contemporary era, we are inundated with guidebooks for life, endless information regarding our paths, and even detailed maps to navigate them. Yet, when discussing the ambiguous nature of human affairs, we cannot omit the concepts of Paradox and Irony—phenomena that defy reason yet compel us to acknowledge their undeniable reality.
Nevertheless, absolute certainties remain: brightness and darkness, day and night, the presence and absence of light. These are definitive truths and primal elements essential for flora, fauna, and humanity alike. Among these, light stands as a symbol of joy and hope, serving as the very source of energy.
It gives me profound joy to capture that single beam of light and manifest it through artistic expression.
